Mary has practiced law since 1991. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Niagara University in 1987 where she attended on a basketball scholarship. She received her law degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in the spring of 1990 and passed the July 1990 New York State Bar Exam. Mary is licensed to practice law in South Carolina and New York.
After litigating in New York for ten years, Mary relocated to Charleston, South Carolina where she is able to devote her practice to helping individuals facing family conflict. Mary is a family law and Charleston child custody attorney that has the benefit of being a fierce advocate in the courtroom. To add, she serves as a court-appointed guardian ad litem, representing children's interests in high conflict custody disputes. This gives her a unique Charleston child custody perspective to handle the most challenging cases on behalf of her clients.
Mary is an experienced Charleston litigator whose practice focuses on family law, including separation, divorce, property agreements, alimony, custody, child support and property divisions. She received an AV rating from her peers through Martindale-Hubbell, which recognizes that she has reached the height of professional excellence, has practiced law for many years and is recognized for the highest levels of skill and integrity. Mary is a member of the Charleston County Bar Association, South Carolina Bar Association, South Carolina Women's Lawyers and is an active Guardian ad Litem in the Family Courts of the Tri-County Region. In addition, she is a certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a Family Court Mediator, trained in Collaborative Law and a member to the South Carolina Collaborative Law Institute. She was the founding president of the Rotary Club of Daniel Island and is active in her community, supporting the local schools and other charities with her philanthropy.
